about

'Rise Together' is the first single of the upcoming EP by Amaru Tribe.
Produced by Oscar Jimenez AKA ChibCha
Written by Katherine Gailer, Oscar Jimenez and special guest spoken word artist and MC Luka Lesson

‘Rise Together’ is a song that calls for unity and awakening in this current polarised world. Inspired by the sentiments felt by the artist during the lockdown along with the urgency of the climate crisis, this is a invitation for people and communities to connect and work in harmony, because the alternative is unthinkable; a sentiment best summed up best with the lyrics “we must come together or disappear forever”.

lyrics

RISE TOGETHER
Amaru Tribe feat. Luka Lesson

Verse 1 (Katherine Gailer AKA Katira)

Agua bendita purificame

Take a deep breath and write for those who resist
Protecting life with seeds
Creating hope as they speak
I write for the mothers
Our real warriors
From the beginning of time carrying divine power
Resurrect equality, relentless fight against brutality
Black is beautiful, roots stand strong
And moccachinos, mestizos,
we mix the flavour and wisdom
In this new rhythm and trigger
memories of your origins

Thunders hurt when they hit the ground
But you know flowers grow out of the cracks and bounce
Yeah you know
Flowers grow
Out of the cracks and bounce

Chorus
Rising to the sun
Stronger we’ll become
If we come together
Mama take me home

Verse 2 (Luka Lesson)

I pray - with the same palms that i write with
I light my incense with the same fists that i fight with
the fires that burn us - can also ignite us
same flares to help them find us, burn our streets in a riot

the legs that runaway - soldiers use to march with
those arms holding guns, could hold baskets for the harvest
one person’s trigger finger - could wipe away a tear
are you sniper or farmer, the killer or the deer

//

same feet that kick the dead, they use to cross borders
the rope around our necks - could us achor in rough waters
the boats that tow them back // could help to bring them home
some people say salaam // some people say shalom

the same hurt people, hurt people just the same
same perspectives, same purpose, different names
same labyrinth, same illusions, different maze
same picture, same image, the a different frame

we in the same prison, the same bars, the same hate

the distance between us
is just the time that it takes
for us to see we all the same
if we eachother in each other
we cross the most sacred terrain
that’s love

Chorus
Rising to the sun
Stronger we’ll become
If we come together
Mama take me home

Verse 3 (Oscar Jimenez)

Mama Bachue let me turn the page
And break the chains
To I can find the words to chanel this pain
Take my tears and make them pour rain
Elevate my soul into the liquid state

Don’t wait for better days
Who wants privilegue if there is no heritage
Don’t let politicians decide your fate
Australian citizenship, gender colour or race
Vaccinate yourself from division and hate
Be an echo of love for generations to come
Cause we must come together
Or disappear forever

End Chorus
Rise, Rise together
Rise into the Sun
